This past Saturday we headed up to the Mountain View Inn to celebrate 90 wonderful years for a wonderful man, my dad's dad, Marshall "Papaw" Roberson.
It was mostly family and very close family friends.
After light refreshments, there was a short program where Reverend Don Walker spoke on behalf of Papaw's life-long ministry to the Church of God, additionally there was a letter presented and read from Dr. Raymond Culpepper. What an honor!
Each of my dad's siblings (and Dad) all spoke...
...and each of the first-born cousins from each family.
Then after that, all of the great-grands (minus one) sang a song and showed their love to Papaw.
Papaw said that it was one of the best days of his life.
My Mamaw passed away in 1994 and Papaw remarried Dorothy in 1997 (I think). But what a treat it was to have my Mamaw's sister Esther there to celebrate. It was really eerie seeing her; it was like seeing my Mamaw. Wished she could have been there for this; my Mamaw, Mary and Papaw were married for 54 happy years.
Happy Birthday Papaw! You're the best!
